Celestron Power Tank Instructions

Astronomy is one of the last sciences where amateurs still contribute to important discoveries. Some amateur astronomers use sophisticated telescopes with motorized mounts, which are often connected to laptop computers. These astronomers use their equipment in remote locations, and they often have to assemble and disassemble their equipment in the dark, using their car headlights for illumination. The Celestron Power Tank is a 12-volt power supply for equipment astronomers transport to the field. In an emergency, it doubles as a car battery charger.

Instructions

  Charge your Celestron Power Tank before its first use. Push the main switch to "CHA," then insert the small end of the AC adapter, included with the Power Tank, into the input jack on the side of the Power Tank. Plug the opposite end of the adapter into an electrical outlet.

  Plug your motorized mount, computer or other device into the outlet on the side of the Power Tank. The Power Tank has two outlets, one for 12-volt devices and the other for three, six and nine-volt devices.

  Turn on the Power Tank before switching on your device.

  Operate the flashlight, spotlight and radio by pressing the flashlight, spotlight or radio on/off buttons, after turning on the Power Tank.

  Remove the jumper cables from the back of the Power Tank, if you wish to use the Power Tank as a starting aid for weak car batteries.

  Connect the positive and negative clips of the jumper cables to the positive and negative terminals on your car battery. Allow your car battery to charge for 20 minutes before removing the negative cable from your battery and starting your car.
