Things You'll Need
Instructions
Go outside on a clear night. If you live in the city, you may wish to drive some distance to get away from the light pollution. Alternately, you can look at a star map to see the arrangement of stars.
Look up at the stars and allow your eyes to separate the stars into groups. With so many stars in the sky, your eyes want to divide them up.
Draw the star groupings on a piece of paper. Use small dots or star shapes to represent each star.
Look at your drawing and think about what the shapes remind you of. Ancient people looked at the stars of the Big Dipper and thought it looked like a ladle meant for carrying water.
Make up a story about why the object is in the sky. Perhaps it was thrown up there or placed up there for safe keeping.
