Things You'll Need
Instructions
Prepare the diorama box. The size of the box is determined by the size of the printed planets. The box and planets should be proportional in size. Using a paint brush, paint the inside of the box with black acrylic paint.
Create stars inside the box. Once the black paint has dried, splatter the inside of the box with white acrylic paint. To splatter the white paint, dip the paint brush into the white paint. Hold the end of the paint brush firmly in one hand. Using the other hand, pull back on the paint brush and release. The forward motion after the release will splatter the paint. The white splatters will resemble stars in the night sky.
Prepare the solar system photos. Line up the two copies of the photos and glue the them together back-to-back. The finished photo should have the photo on both sides of the paper. Cut out the photo using scissors. Leave a 1/4-inch border. The border is necessary in case the photos are not lined up perfectly.
Attach a string to one side of the photo with glue. Leave enough string to attach the planet to the top of the box.
Arrange and attach the planets to the top of the box. Planets should be arranged in the same order they are located in orbit around the Sun.
