Yahoo Maps Satellite Map
Visit Yahoo's home page and choose "Maps" in the "More Yahoo Sites" section. This will bring you to a page with a large map you can move around by clicking and dragging. You can also search for a location.
Select "Satellite" in the upper right-hand corner of the map. This will change the map from default view to a live satellite map.
Click and drag the map until you find the location you would like to view. Use the upper left zoom to see you location at the street level. When you are done, you can zoom back out for a global view.
Google Satellite Map
Visit the Google Earth webpage. Download the latest version of Google Earth. As of February 2011, Google Earth allows you to watch the sun rise and set all over the world, and allows you to view your locations in 3D.
Open your download and run the setup to install Google Earth on your computer. It may take a few moments. Google Earth should open automatically when the installation is complete.
Click and drag your 3D globe to a location of your choice. You can also search for a location in the upper left search bar. When you have found your location, zoom in using the upper right zoom.
Drag the orange human figure at the top of the zoom to a location to see a fast 3D street view.
Select the sun symbol at the top menu to see how the lighting is in the world at the time of day you are viewing it.
Select different "Layers" in the bottom left corner in order to see landmarks, traffic, businesses and more.
