Things You'll Need
Instructions
Remove the banana peels from the bananas. The bananas themselves are not required, so you can do what you want with them.
Lay the banana peels in various spots throughout the rooms where fleas are present. Make sure pets can't get to them. One banana peel is enough to cover about a 5-foot radius.
Leave the banana peels in place until they turn black. The fleas area attracted to the peels, but the high levels of potassium found in bananas and their peels kill the fleas.
Remove the peels when they begin to turn black, and start again with fresh peels, if your flea problem has not yet been eliminated.
Take your pet, if you have one, to a veterinarian to get a prescription treatment for fleas. Pets are typically the hosts for fleas, and while bananas will help eliminate fleas that infest the house, the fleas will continue to breed on a pet, for which a banana peel will do very little.
