Things You'll Need
Instructions
Take your pet, if you have one, to the veterinarian if you have not already done so to get a tick treatment prescribed for your pet. Eliminating ticks from your carpet will be ineffective if your pet is still carrying them.
Vacuum thoroughly any areas where the infected pet is allowed to be in the house. You may also want to have a steam cleaning done, though a thorough vacuuming should suffice.
Spray the carpets suspected of having a flea infestation with an insect growth regulator product. Look for a product that contains one or both of methoprene and pyriproxyfen. These chemicals are proven to interfere with the life cycle of ticks and fleas, which will prevent any new ticks and fleas from being born.
