How to Kill Termites on Wood Chairs

Termites are pests that feed on wood and soil. Because there are many types of termites, each with different diets and habits, termite control squads are always the most efficient way to exterminate them. The costs to fumigate furniture and entire houses, however, are often high. Exposing termites to poison is a way to get rid of them on your own, if you want to avoid spending money on professional treatments.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the infested chair outside the house. The area should be well ventilated. Place newspapers under the chair.

    • 2

Spray termiticide all over the chair.

    • 3

Leave the location for an hour in order to avoid inhaling chemicals and to let the termiticide kill the termites. Many dead termites will fall on the newspaper. However, some that were not poisoned will still be inside the chair.

    • 4

Inspect occasional exposed holes and cracks on the chair, even on the bottom of the feet. Wearing rubber gloves, inject liquid termiticide with the help of a syringe in the holes you found.

    • 5

Let the liquid termiticide dry for a day. Bring the chair back inside the house.
