How to Get Bed Bugs Out of Cashmere

Bed bugs are a common problem in many less developed parts of the world, but have also been making a comeback in the United States as a significant problem. They are small and brown in appearance, and feed on the blood of animals, and are most often found in and around the sleeping area in a home. A common way to kill bed bugs infesting clothing is with heat, but cashmere should not go in the dryer, so other methods must be used.

Instructions

    • 1

Put the bed bug infected cashmere in the plastic bag. Squeeze out any excess air and thoroughly tape the bag shut. Excess air or direct exposure to the freezer can lead to condensation, which can damage your cashmere garment.

    • 2

Put the bagged cashmere in the freezer. Leave it in the freezer for several days.

    • 3

Remove the cashmere garment from the freezer. Remove it from the plastic bag and allow it to thaw.
