How to Put Together a Fluker Clamp Lamp

The Fluker's Clamp Lamp is a simple lamp that clamps on to any surface using a pressure clamp. It is sold by Fluker's, a specialty retailer of supplies for breeding insects and reptiles, for use with special incandescent bulbs that are designed for the needs of terrarium creatures. However, the lamp can be used for many purposes, such as illuminating workbenches or even office desks. The Clamp Lamp is easy to assemble and install. No tools are required to attach the clamp to the lamp socket assembly or to clamp the lamp on to any surface.

Things You'll Need

Clamp Lamp kit consisting of:
Bulb socket and reflector assembly
Mounting (pipe) clamp
Pressure clamp
Incandescent bulb with standard base up to 150 watts

Instructions

  Unpack the box and inner bag in which the ClampLamp is packaged. Turn the lamp socket and reflector assembly upside-down and rest it on a flat surface.

  Unscrew the wing nut of the small mounting clamp with an open round mount (similar to a pipe clamp) as far as possible without removing the nut.

  Place the ball assembly at the top of the pressure clamp into the bottom of the mounting clamp, below the adjustment screw to which the wing nut is attached.

  Place the top of the lamp (back of the lamp socket) into the open end of the mounting clamp.

  Screw the wing nut in until it stops, and then rotate the pressure clamp clockwise until it stops.

  Squeeze the sides of the pressure clamp to expand the clamp jaws, and line up the jaws with any protruding flat surface such as the edge of a table or desk. Release the clamp so that the lamp is affixed to the surface.

  Screw a bulb into the lamp socket and plug the lamp cord into a standard household electrical outlet. The bulb will light immediately. If it does not, check the bulb and replace it, and if it still does not work, contact Fluker's customer service department.
