Things You'll Need
Instructions
Determine the type of wasps you are dealing with. Where there is one wasp, typically, a nest is not far away. Follow the wasp and locate the nest. The nest will tell you what type of wasp you have. Paper wasps make single comb nests that are often found on porches and other sheltered areas. Mud dauber wasps build mud nests on walls and corners of sheltered areas. Cicada killer wasps burrow down into the ground and create a nest.
Take note of where the nest is located. Leave the nest alone in the middle of the day. Wait until late at night or early in the day to eliminate the nest. Wasps do the least amount of activity during early morning and late night.
Prepare your Mr. Clean©. If you are dealing with a wasp nest that is housed in a corner or off the ground, put the Mr. Clean© in a spray bottle. For wasp nests in the ground, keep the cleaner in the bottle.
Dress yourself for protection. Wear a long-sleeved shirt and pants, as well as shoes that completely cover your feet. For long hair, put your hair up and place underneath a hat to ensure that wasps do not get trapped in your hair.
Locate the nest once more. Shine a low-light flashlight on the nest. Spray the nest several times with the bottle of Mr. Clean©. Ensure that you spray quickly and efficiently. Pour a liberal amount of Mr. Clean© directly in the opening of the nest or on the nest if you are dealing with nests in the ground.
Get out of the area. Wasps become aggressive when their nests are threatened. Remove yourself from the area as quickly as possible. Stay away from the nest and surrounding area for the next 24 hours.
Pour or spray Mr. Clean© on the remains of any nests. Continue to apply Mr. Clean© as necessary to keep wasps away.
