Boiling Water Method
Fill a large pot with regular tap water.
Place the pot on the stove and turn on the burner to medium-high temperature.
Allow the water in the pot to come to a rolling boil.
Turn off the burner. With an oven mitt, firmly grab the handle of the pot.
Kill the maggots. Take the pot of water over to the maggots. Slowly pour the boiling water on the maggots.
Sweep the dead maggots up and place them in a trash bag. Ensure that the trash bag is securely tied.
Freezer Method
Place maggots in a large, plastic container. Securely close the container with the lid.
Tape the sides of the container. Run a length of duct tape around the container where the lid meets the container. This ensures that the maggots are completely sealed in and will not crawl out.
Label the container so nobody mistakes the container for food.
Place the container in the freezer for 24 hours. The maggots slowly freeze.
Throw the container in a garbage bag. Securely tie the garbage bag and throw it away.
Chemical Method
Spray permethrin on the maggots. Allow the maggots to die and sweep them up. Place the maggots in a trash bag.
Spray more permethrin in the trash bag to ensure the maggots are completely dead.
Check all around the area of the infestation for more maggots.
Spray permethrin in all corners and cracks of the area.
Sweep up any additional maggots and place them in the trash bag. Securely tie the trash bag and throw it away.
