How to Use 20 Mule Team Borax to Kill Roaches

Roaches are common household pests. They can find their way inside your home through small openings around screens, pipes or doorways. Once inside, they can transmit germs and bacteria throughout your home. 20 Mule Team Borax is a common household cleaner that can also be used to eliminate roaches safely and effectively. If you discover roaches in your home, treat them immediately for the health and safety of your family.

Things You'll Need

Empty baby powder bottle
Caulk
Weatherstripping
Vacuum
Resealable plastic containers

Instructions

  Pour some 20 Mule Team Borax into an empty baby powder bottle and lightly sprinkle it under sinks, stoves, behind refrigerators, stoves and along baseboards. The roaches will walk across the powder, ingest it and die.

  Sprinkle the 20 Mule Team Borax on all the carpeted areas of your home to kill roaches and their eggs. Let it sit for 20 minutes and then vacuum it up. Immediately discard the vacuum bag in an outside trash container.

  Dust the powder around the perimeter of your home to keep roaches away. Reapply the powder after it rains because it will lose its potency when wet.

  Practice good sanitation to deter roaches from your home. Clean up food and drink spills immediately and store food in the refrigerator or in resealable plastic containers.

  Seal off cracks, crevices and other entry points into your home with caulk. Apply weatherstripping around windows and doors to keep roaches from entering.
