How to Kill Bugs With Homemade Spray

Bugs can find their way into your home through tiny cracks and crevices in your house's foundation. Bugs invade your home in search of food, water and shelter, and can transmit germs and bacteria to everything they touch. If you have concerns about using harmful insecticides to kill bugs in your home, soap and water offer a safe and effective alternative.

      Make a homemade insecticidal spray to kill bugs in your home. Fill a spray bottle with warm water and 2 tsp. of dish soap. Mix well and spray directly on any bugs you see.

      Spray around your home to keep bugs from coming inside. Mix 2 1/2 tbsp. dish soap in a gallon of water in a bucket. Pour the soap solution into a garden sprayer, and spray around the perimeter of your house.

      Keep bugs off your ornamental and garden plants with the homemade insecticidal solution. Spray the plants every three to five days, paying special attention to the undersides of leaves where bugs like to lay their eggs.
