Things You'll Need
Instructions
Cut the empty 1-gallon milk jug in half horizontally with the knife. Discard the top half, but keep the cap and the bottom half for the cricket container.
Cut the 9-inch-by-9-inch piece of cardboard using the scissors. Attach a small piece of the tape to one side of the cardboard, leaving half of the tape hanging off the edge of the cardboard. Attach the cardboard to the milk jug with the tape so the cardboard covers the top of the milk jug and can be lifted on the side opposite the tape.
Poke holes about 1 inch apart on three sides of the milk jug, using the toothpick, so the crickets can breathe.
Put some of the pebbles and grass inside the cricket container to create a more natural environment. Place the 1/2 empty egg carton inside to give the crickets a place to hide.
Place several small pieces of fruit or vegetable, such as carrots or oranges, inside the container for the crickets to eat. Fill the milk cap with water and place it inside so they can drink.
Place the cricket container on a windowsill or other warm place.
