Things You'll Need
Instructions
Locate the beehive during the day when bees are most active. Look for large numbers of bees hovering around trees, shrubs or under eaves where they like to nest.
Put on tight protective clothing to avoid bee stings. Apply an insecticidal dust containing carbaryl into the entrance of the beehive.
Return to the hive the next day and retreat it if there is still bee activity. Remove the beehive when you are certain all of the bees are dead. Discard the nest in a plastic bag in an outside trash container.
Wash the area where the beehive was located with soap and water. This will prevent future bees from smelling the former colony's scent and reestablishing the colony.
Plant some herbs, such as spearmint, thyme and eucalyptus around your lawn. Bees do not like the smell of the strong smelling herbs and will stay away.
