Things You'll Need
Instructions
Kill ants with vinegar. Vinegar is a mild acid that burns the ants when they come in contact with it. Mix equal parts water and vinegar in a spray bottle and directly spray any ants you see.
Lightly mist the vinegar-and-water solution on countertops, sinks or anywhere you have seen ants frequent. Once the vinegar dries, it will leave behind an acidic residue that will repel ants that come in contact with it.
Spray the homemade liquid ant spray on any ant trails you see. Ants leave behind a trail for other ants to follow. By disrupting the trail, you will prevent them from invading your home again.
Destroy the ant nest to get rid of the ants permanently. Pour equal parts dish soap and vinegar directly into the ants' nest. Repeat daily until the ants are completely gone.
Prevent ants from coming into your home and yard. Caulk any cracks or gaps in your home where ants can enter. Trim trees and shrubs away from your home so they cannot climb up and enter your home.
