How to Make a Bug Catcher Net

Insects that buzz, fly and crawl can be fun to look at but difficult to catch. Create your own bug catcher net to help you trap the little critters and get a closer look without hurting them or yourself. Use your bug catcher net to nab insects in the great outdoors or in your own backyard.

Things You'll Need

  • Wire coat hanger
  • Dowel
  • Tulle
  • Duct tape
  • Needle

Instructions

    • 1

      Untwist the coat hanger and bend it into a circle. Leave the ends straight.

      Tape the straight part of the wire circle to the dowel using duct tape. Make sure it is secure.

    • 3

      Place the tulle over the wire circle and push it through so there is about an inch of tulle at the top.

    • 4

      Fold one inch of tulle over the wire hanger and sew it in place with a needle and thread.
