How to Hang Up Firefly Lights

Fireflies give off a radiant, entertaining glow in the evening. You know they are present when differing shades of red, green and yellow illuminate against the darkness of the night. You can summon the blinking insects with firefly lights. These lights lure fireflies to a specific location because they mimic the behavior fireflies use to attract a mate. By giving off a faint glow, followed by periods of darkness, firefly lights will attract many different species of fireflies.

Things You'll Need

Wooden garden trellis, 3 feet long
8 3-inch nails
Hammer
Firefly lights

Instructions

  Take one of the nails and your hammer along with your garden trellis. Drive in one of the nails about 6 inches from the top of the trellis.

  Hammer another nail into place about 6 inches from the first nail. Continue placing and hammering nails 6 inches apart until you use all the nails.

  Hang the firefly lights on the nails placed inside the garden trellis. Most firefly lights come with loops or hooks, which allow you to hang them anywhere you desire.

  Turn on the firefly lights. Some types of firefly lights allow you to adjust the speed and the brightness of the lights. Adjust the lights to your desired setting.
