Wolf Spiders
Wolf spiders have bodies up to an inch long and legs that have a two-inch spread or longer. They tend to wander indoors in search of food, but their rare bite is not harmful to humans.
Jumping Spiders
Jumping spiders are found quite frequently outdoors in Ohio. They may jump several times their length and are very active hunters, though they pose no threat to humans.
Crab Spiders
Crab spiders tend to look like crabs, and may even walk backward or sideways. Most crab spiders are camouflaged and are not seen at first glance.
Cobweb Spiders
Cobweb spiders typically build webs indoors and outdoors, but they are not as easily spotted as their web may be. These spiders are not harmful to humans, although the Black Widow is categorized as a cobweb spider. But even the Widow's bite is not usually lethal.
