Things You'll Need
Instructions
Put on a pair of gardening gloves to keep soil from getting under your fingernails.
Locate the bottom stem of the hydrangea plant. Use a scooper tool to dig a well around the stem so you can gently grasp the base of the plant.
Dig two fingers along the bottom of the plant until you find its roots under the soil.
Cup the roots in your fingers and gently lift upward, pulling the plant carefully from the soil.
FIll a planter with soil and dig a 4 inch well at the center. Place the roots of the hydrangea in the well and cover with soil.
Sprinkle fertilizer over the plant to encourage healthy growth.
