Science Novelties for Kids

Science novelties for kids include science toys, science tools, science kits and science equipment for educational hobbies, such as insect collections. These toys can be used for recreational fun or to conduct science experiments at home. Next time there's a holiday, birthday or other special occasion, get your kid a toy she can learn something with.
  1. Science Toys

    • The construction of a glider allows it to fly.

Scientific toys get kids to think about shapes, space, gravity, force, motion and other scientific concepts. These illustrate how objects interact with space, force and motion in the world and why. Such toys include Slinkys, spinning tops, balancing birds, glow sticks, sticky hands, putty and Play-Doh and model airplanes or gliders, among others.

    Science Tools

    • Science tools inspire kids to explore. Among the science tools you can buy for a kid include simple telescopes, magnifying glasses, compasses, measuring tools (such as beakers, tape measures and scales), and magnet sets. If your kid is creative, have him create his own science projects with his available tools. Create and conduct weekly science experiments at the house. Take your kid outside in the backyard or out to the park and discover something new about the environment around you.

    Science Kits

    • Complete science kits are available for purchase, many of them put together for experiments suitable for kids. Science kits range from all-in-one telescope kits (with a chart of the planets and data recording tools) to a model doctor's kit and guide that teaches kids to stitch up wounds properly. Ask your kid what her interests are, then purchase a science kit that allows her to explore her own questions and passions.

    Science Hobbies

    • Many children naturally have questions and curiosities about the world. Your kid might go outside, dig up snails and ask to keep them as pets, or collect rocks of a certain color. Inspire your child's natural curiosities with science novelties that encourage her hobbies. Such items include collector's kits (including containers and displays), informational books, CDs and DVDs, and complimentary science tools that help your kid in her adventures, such as shovels, buckets, measuring tools, gloves, flashlights, goggles and a recording journal.
