Instructions

    • 1

Try to peel away as much of the antler velvet with your fingers as possible. Many times, you can find edges on the velvet and slowly work the covering free of the antler.

    • 2

Fill a large pot or bucket with hot water. Boil the water separately, fill the bucket with antlers and then pour the water over the antlers.

    • 3

Add soap to the bucket of hot water. The hot water will ensure that the pores of the antlers are preserved, retaining their original appearance.

    • 4

Cut away any additional velvet not removed by the hot water using a razor blade or small knife, taking care not to scratch the antlers.
