Have Cookouts
During the winter, cooking inside can make homes smell delicious and keep them warm. In the sun, cooking indoors can make homes uncomfortably warm. When it is sunny, people cook anything that can go on a grill or a campfire. Cooking foods like hotdogs on a stick and s'mores means fewer dishes and more time to spend in the sun.
Go to the Beach
When it is sunny out, some people will spend whole days at the beach. They play water games, such as Marco Polo, build sand structures, and bury each other in the sand. Sunbathing at the beach is relaxing and may relieve the symptoms of some skin conditions, such as psoriasis and eczema. There are various ways to get exercise while enjoying yourself at the beach. Wakeboarding, surfing, boogie boarding, kayaking and running are just some of them. People can even work at the beach as lifeguards during the summer months.
Play Sports
People wait for sunny days and seasons to play sports for fun or professionally. People typically play volleyball on beaches and in backyards. They play baseball on fields that are too muddy to play on when it rains. People also play baseball related games, such as catch or batting practice, in backyards and at batting cages. Relay races, community field days and obstacle courses are sunny day sports that can include the whole family.
Yard Work
Rain makes grass clippings and leaves sticky. It also makes flowerbeds and mulch muddy. Therefore, we save yard work for when the sun is shining. In the fall, all of the leaves fall off the trees, so people have to rake. In the spring, people rake leaves left over from the year before and they plant flowers and vegetables for the coming months. It is less difficult to do these chores in the sunshine, whether it is hot or cold. It is also far more pleasant, especially along with a glass of iced tea.
