Things You'll Need
Instructions
Take the temperature in several different places around the school or home. Compare temperatures between shady and sunny places as well as areas covered in asphalt versus areas covered in grass.
Mark one cardboard strip for each test area with the temperature of that test area. This will show you whether more ozone gathers in warm or cool places.
Tape an ozone test strip, available from science supply stores and sites, to each cardboard strip. Place each strip in the corresponding temperature zone.
Wait for an hour. Gather up all of the cardboard strips and compare the colors of the ozone strips. Each ozone strip should be a shade of pink or red. The lighter the color, the less ozone is present in the area.
