Sitting squarely on your desktop, the Weather Mate application allows you to check the weather conditions in over 50,000 locations worldwide. The program allows you to view the weather for multiple cities at the same time by creating a tab for each city you are searching. Pictures of umbrellas alert users to the likelihood of rain the next day. This free program uses weather information directly from The Weather Channel so if you don't have time to flip your TV on, this is a great alternative.
YoWindow
Looking out the window of your home via your computer screen is the basis for the free weather program YoWindow. Forecasts are displayed over corresponding pictures. Landscapes also change based on season. Weather predictions are minimal though, with only the temperature and precipitation forecasts included. If you are a visual person and prefer graphics to numbers, this weather application may be a good fit for you. YoWindow offers users a free trial before requiring a subscription.
