You can obtain the air pressure in a location in millibars simply by reading it on most modern barometers. However, if all you have on hand is an old aneroid barometer, which only displays in the air pressure in terms of inches, obtaining a measurement in millibars can be a bit trickier. Fortunately, atmospheric air pressure measurements in the form of inches and millibars have a proportional relationship, and obtaining one from the other requires only a calculator.
