ABC Hunt
Each team needs to collect something within the campground beginning with each letter of the alphabet. Encourage the teams to think creatively -- for example, an acorn, birds' nest, caterpillar and dead bug for A, B, C and D. The team that collects items representing the most letters wins.
Camera Scavenger Hunt
Teams are required to take photographs of items on the list rather than return the actual item. By taking photographs, your scavenger hunters will not disturb the natural environment. A picture of a flower, a bird, something tiny and a cloud are items to include in your list. Your list can also include silly situations to be photographed -- for example, a picture of one of your team members swinging from a tree branch, standing barefoot in a stream or roasting marshmallows.
Nature Hunt
Give each team a list of items found in nature. The items on the list must be natural, not artificial. A shiny rock, an oak leaf, a stick, an insect and a blade of grass are examples of items to include.
Campground Hunt
Ask your teams to collect camping items found within tents and cabins. Include common camping items such as a lantern, firewood, a tent stake, a flashlight, a camping chair, a marshmallow, a piece of chocolate and a graham cracker to make a s'more. Have your team member return the items or photographs of the items. Require them to take photographs if removing the item would disturb the campsite.
