Treefrogs
If you are searching for frogs in the Corpus Christi area, remember to look up. The Green Treefrog, Squirrel Treefrog and Gray Treefrog are all indigenous to Corpus Christi. These species may be found on tree trunks and branches, as well as in the leaves. The easiest method for spotting a tree frog is to take a flashlight outside at night. When you hear chirping nearby, shine your flashlight on the nearest tree. Watch along the trunk or branches for a tiny scuttling movement. The treefrogs will move around the branch or trunk to avoid the light. If you hold the light on one side and look on the other side, you just might get lucky and see one. Otherwise, the treefrogs may be in the leaves, which makes them much more difficult to see.
