Winter
During the winter season, a couple of events take place. Snow Mountain is a winter playground area, with activities such as snow tubing, snowman building and snowball-throwing fun. Running from December to March, the park covers the laser lawn area of the mountain and opens daily. The other winter event is Snow Mountain Christmas, which also operates daily, and typically takes place between November and January. It hosts attractions such as a tunnel of Christmas lights, known as the Wonderland Walkway, as well as a nightly Christmas parade and live shows.
Spring
During spring, the park hosts events such as the Lasershow Spectacular, which is staged on days in April and May. The shows last around 45 minutes and use laser lights and fireworks, choreographed with music, to display a variety of characters and stories. Easter is celebrated annually at the park, with an Easter sunrise service held on the top of the mountain. The Georgia Frontier Days festival generally takes place at the end of April. Staged at the Antebellum Plantation in the park, it includes live demonstrations of historical Civil War and pioneer-era events.
Summer
The summer months bring the Atlanta Fest to Stone Mountain. This generally takes place over a three day period in June, and is considered one of the top Christian music events in the South. It features shows by a number of Christian rock bands and singers, as well as talks and seminars by ministers. Summer at the Rock runs from the end of May until the start of August, and hosts one-off events such as the Fantastic Fourth Celebration, staged around the 4th of July each year.
Fall
Fall events include the Yellow Daisy Festival, an arts-and-craft show held over a four-day period in September. This features more than 400 stalls displaying a variety of traditional crafts, some for show and others for purchase. The annual Pumpkin Festival runs during October, and includes children's costume contests and the Great Pumpkin Puppet Parade. The Indian Festival &Pow-Wow takes place over four days at the start of November, and showcases American Indian dance, music, storytelling and crafts.
