Go for a Walk
Go on a walk in your neighborhood, or better yet, a place you've never been. If your weekday routine involves going to the gym, then going for a walk outside can be a welcome change to your schedule. According to RealAge, "Research shows that adults who take their walks outside tend to feel less tense, angry, confused, and sad compared with their peers who walk indoors."
Is there an arboretum where you live or a botanical garden you've been meaning to visit, but haven't yet? If so, take advantage of the nice weather and go take in the scenery you've been missing. If you don't have access to an arboretum or botanical garden, head to a local park instead.
Get Active
Exercise energizes you, and to get the most positive benefits of exercise, you should try to get outdoors. Whereas gyms can be a little stale and boring, the outdoors offers you a constantly changing variety of scenery and obstacles that awaken and engage your senses.
Take advantage of the sunshine and get out that old bike and go for a ride. Some other good outdoor ideas include playing basketball, going for a jog or finding a local trail and give a new sport a try, like hiking or trail running. For more ideas, check out magazines such as Whole Living or Outdoor, which always feature ideas and activities to get you moving.
Grill Out
Getting together with friends or family on a sunny day to grill out is a fun way to cook a meal together while catching up on each other's lives. Whereas having people over for a dinner party can get costly, grilling out doesn't have to involve a lot of prep or planning and it's definitely affordable. A meal can be as simple as a burger, grilled fruit and grilled corn. Making the meal together on a sunny day is the best part.
Create Beauty
If it's sunny out, take advantage of the weather and plant something you can enjoy for months ahead. Planting some flowers---either in pots or in a flower bed--not only looks good, but can offer you lots of mood-boosting benefits. If you are unsure of what to plant, ask someone in your local nursery for recommendations.
