How to Design Your Own Hunting Shirt

Camouflage shirts are a necessary article of clothing to bring hunting. These shirts are available at many hunting goods stores, however designing and making your own can be a great experience. It is a simple activity to do and does not require a lot of time to complete.

Things You'll Need

White cotton shirt
Rubber bands
1 cup soda ash
3 buckets for water
Fabric dye (light green, dark green and brown)
Water
Salt

Instructions

  Soak the shirt in four liters water and one cup soda ash for an hour.

  Fill the buckets with hot water, a tablespoon of salt and a different color of dye to each and stir.

  Submerge the shirt in the lightest green then wring the water out. Allow the shirt to dry completely.

  Tie elastics onto the shirt in bunches. Make several of them throughout and submerge the shirt into the darker green. Allow the shirt to dry completely.

  Tie more elastics on the shirt and submerge it into the brown dye. Hang the shirt to dry overnight.
