Orchids
Orchids are found growing on both shrubs and trees, and can survive in a variety of climates and terrain, typically favoring warmer regions. There are many sub-species of the orchid, and the flower appears in a range of colors, from pink to light blue and white. Orchids usually peak between the months of January and June.
Bluebells
Bluebells are a blue flower often spotted in large amounts in verdant woodlands as well as blooming on grasslands. They flower in April and May, and the plant has thin leaves, which appear from January onwards. Bluebells are most commonly spotted in the United Kingdom, in areas such as the New Forest, as well as in some parts of Western Europe.
Common Ash
The common ash tree possesses tough timber and light-colored bark, and is chiefly found in the United Kingdom. Ash wood is used for equipment such as oars and hockey sticks as well as in some furniture, thanks to its durability and flexibility. The ash family has a variety known as a weeping ash, which features low-lying branches.
Daffodil
The Daffodil is instantly recognizable for its yellow color, and is often cultivated in household gardens. It flowers from February to April each year, and is a common sight in deciduous forest environments. The flower is found in Europe and in Asia.
Rowan
The rowan is a deciduous tree with tough branches, which favors woodlands alongside desolate terrain such as moorland, and is often found at higher altitudes. The rowan, which is occasionally known as the mountain ash, doesn't grow to be particularly tall, typically only reaching some 50 feet in height, as noted by the Forest of Leeds website. In autumn, the tree bears red berries, used for making jelly.
Black Ironwood
The black ironwood --- so called for the toughness and density of its wood, as well as its gray bark --- is a tree chiefly found in parts of Florida, such as Cape Canaveral, and is also commonly spotted in the West Indies. The black ironwood has broad leaves, and produces black fruit in the fall. It typically grows to around 30 feet in height, and possesses a diameter of around 10 feet, according to the Florida Forest Trees website.
