Materials
All Eureka Mountain Pass tents are constructed using durable and lightweight materials suitable for rugged terrain and designed to keep you dry. Frame poles are made out of 8.5 mm 7000-series aluminum tubing. This 4-season aluminum is a premium quality tubing, specially made for rigid or pre-bent frames. It boasts excellent stability and provides a compact and lightweight option that is easy to assemble outdoors. The tent attaches to the frame with plastic clips utilizing a post &grommet assembly. Floors are waterproof and fabricated using 75 denier polyester taffeta. Walls are constructed of uncoated 68 denier polyester taffeta. An optional fly made from 75 denier 210T StormShield® polyester ripstop waterproof fabric is provided for inclement weather conditions, or just for added privacy. This premium fabric is thicker than nylon counterparts, holds up exceptionally well to UV and acid rain and is abrasion resistant. Drying time is comparable to that of nylon. Windows are covered with no-see-um 40 denier nylon mesh. This is the tightest weave available for window screens and provides good visibility as well as good ventilation.
Design
Tent comfort and convenience are noteworthy achievements of the Eureka Mountain Pass functional design. Design features include two easy entrance and exit doors positioned at either side of the tent. Vestibules are just inside each door and allow separation and storage for muddy or clean gear. An overhead gear loft provides campers a place to store flashlights, water bottles and other essentials, all within easy reach.
