How to Use the Remains From a Juicer

Use the leftover fruit and vegetable pulp from your juicer to give a boost to other foods. All the fibrous remnants from your produce don't have to be consigned to the compost bin anymore. According to Hillbillyhousewife.com, fruit and vegetable pulp can be baked into cakes and breads to add fiber and enhance the flavor.

Things You'll Need

  • Mixing bowl
  • 2/3 cup raw sugar
  • 1/4 cup organic milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 mashed banana
  • 2 tbsp. honey
  • 1 tsp orange extract
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cup whole wheat flower
  • 3/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp .baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups of juicer pulp
  • 1 tbsp. wheat germ

Instructions

      Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

      Grease a cake or bread pan. Dust the pan with flour to ensure that the bread doesn't stick.

      Mix the sugar, milk, eggs, orange extract, honey, mashed banana and spices together in the mixing bowl.

      Add the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and mix well.

      Add the pulp from the juicer and stir until just mixed. Do not overmix or the bread will be tough.

      Pour into the prepared loaf or cake pan and sprinkle with 1 tbsp. of wheat germ.

      Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes, depending on your oven. The bread is done when a knife comes out clean when inserted in the middle of the bread. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.
