Poland Spring
Commonly seen as a logo on bottled water, Poland Spring in Maine was discovered in the late 18th century by Hiram Ricker. After noticing the healing and medicinal properties of the water, he shared it with his family and friends. By 1859, Ricker began selling Poland Spring water and developed a resort around the spring. The Poland Water company still distributes bottled water from this spring today all around the United States.
Mammoth Spring
Mammoth Spring in Arkansas is the state's largest spring and the second largest among the Ozark Mountains. The spring yields nine million gallons of water each hour. As a natural historic landmark, the site is open to sightseers Mammoth Spring bubbles out to a scenic river as well.
Rainbow Springs
Scientists have found that humans have used Rainbow Springs in Florida for almost 10,000 years. Only the fourth largest in Florida, this spring still offers ample opportunities for people to enjoy the water. Swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and canoeing are permitted within these waters. Tubing allows visitors to enjoy nature and wildlife as they float down the Rainbow River which is fed by the spring.
