Instructions

    • 1

Set up a weather station outside with a thermometer to measure temperature. Use a barometer to determine barometric pressure and a rain gauge to measure rain or snowfall. Use a windsock to measure wind, and a Mason's Hygrometer to measure humidity.

    • 2

Observe and record the data of the weather station at regular intervals. Use graph paper to track the weather. Label the measurement you are taking down the left-hand side of the paper, such as temperature or barometric pressure. Write the date and time across the top of the paper. Record your measurements under the date.

    • 3

Create the graph after you have a few points. Draw the x and y axis. Use the x axis--the horizontal one--to mark the dates. Make each line on the y axis represent an increasing measurement interval. Refer to the data collection sheet to find the temperature on a particular date. Mark the temperature for each date with a dot. Use the straightedge to draw a line connecting the dots across the graph. Make a new chart for barometric pressure, humidity and rain or snowfall.
