How to Have a TI-84 Calculator Change Decimals to Fractions Automatically

Whether you are calculating a mathematical equation in a classroom or out in the workplace, an answer with multiple or infinite decimal values can be unsightly. Luckily, with the computing strength and versatility of the TI-84 calculator, developed by Texas Instruments, you can convert any decimal into fraction form. With the TI-84, you can convert decimals into fractions after solving the equation or simply enter the decimal you want to convert.

Instructions

    • 1

Type the equation into your TI-84 calculator home screen.

    • 2

Press the "Enter" button located in the bottom-right corner of your calculator keypad to receive your answer in decimal form.

    • 3

Press the blue "2nd" button located in the top-left corner of the calculator keypad followed by the "Answer" function button. This will copy your answer to a new line on the home screen so you do not have to type out the answer again.
