How to Understand Your Personality Number in Numerology

The personality number in numerology represents that part of you that other people see before they get to know you well. It may or may not be a true image. The consonants in your full birth name give you this number, and are calculated as explained below.

Instructions

    • 1

Write down all the consonants from your full birth name as shown on your birth certificate. Include your middle name if you have one. Each consonant you write down will be assigned a number.

    • 2

      Use this list to find the numbers that correspond to each consonant in your name. Write that number over those consonants and ignore the vowels here: a = 1, b = 2, c = 3, d = 4, e = 5, f = 6, g = 7, h = 8, i = 9, j = 1, k = 2, l = 3, m = 4, n = 5, 0 = 6, p = 7, q = 8, r = 9, s = 1, t = 2, u = 3, v = 4, w = 5, x = 6, y = 7 and z = 8.

    • 3

Notice how the numbers in Step 2 repeat after the letter "i." In numerology double-digit numbers are added together. For example, 13 or 24 are added individually so that 13 = 1 + 3 = 4, and 24 = 2 + 4 = 6. You will see the pattern if you look closely at the numbers in Step 2 that correspond with letters after "i."

    • 4

Add together the numbers assigned to the consonants for each of your names individually; your first, middle and last names. Then add the three numbers for your names together for a final one-digit number unless the number adds up to 11, 22 or 33.

    • 5

Leave any Master numbers--11, 22 and 33--as double-digit numbers because they're special numbers that have their own interpretations.

    • 6

Look online or at bookstores for the ancient science of numerology's interpretation of your personality number.
