How to Attach Gold Detectors to a Cart

Searching for gold requires patience and fortitude. You must spend long hours with a special type of metal detector that is sensitive enough to find small pieces of this yellow treasure. However, as of 2011, gold is more than $1,500 an ounce. You can make your search easier by attaching your metal detector to a cart. This will reduce fatigue and increase your prospecting efficiency.

  Buy a cart that can ride over difficult terrain such as rocks or a beach. Larger wheels will help with this.

  Remove any unnecessary parts from the gold detector that may prevent attaching the long shaft of the detector to the cart.

  Attach the gold detector at an angle to the cart so the search coil is near the ground. Use the rope or elastic cord to strap down the detector. Leave enough slack so you can move the detector over different parts of the ground if necessary.

  Leave extra room so changing terrain won't damage the detector.
