Create a cat's eye marble by injecting veins of color into the middle of the marble. They are different from other marbles in that they are clear all around with streaks of one or several colors running through the center. Cat's eye marbles are generally made from glass, but can also be created by rocks or minerals, such as a geode. Since a geode has naturally occurring color striations, the cat's eye effect is created naturally, without the need for dyes.

Instructions
1
Cut the geode into a cube using a hand-held saw.
Cut the geode mineral into a cube shape using a diamond bit saw. Try to cut out the most colorful portion of the rock to ensure the most vibrant coloring.
2
Carve half of a sphere, about 1 inch in diameter, into the silicon carborundum using a diamond bit drimmel tool.
3
Place the cubed rock into the center of carborundum and press against the side of the diamond grinder.
4
Turn on the grinder, allowing the cube to rotate inside of the carborundum until it begins to smooth all sides and rolls evenly without wobbling.
5
Polish the marble to reveal a shiny cat's eye.
Polish the marble with a cheese cloth to make it shine.
