Things You'll Need
Instructions
Place interesting rock samples in your landscaping. Large boulders with colorful minerals or interesting textures can add a focal point to the beds, while small and medium-sized samples can make a rock garden.
Donate small rock samples to a nearby school. Children as young as those in first grade study the properties of rocks and minerals; therefore, most elementary schools, middle schools, high schools or colleges would likely accept your rock samples for use by their students and staff.
Give the rock samples to a local youth organization such as Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, or an after-school program. These programs may provide children with learning experiences that involve science.
Sell your rock samples. Collectors will sell or purchase large or interesting rock samples online and in person at rock and gem shows.
