Memorize the uniform basic rule that 1 carat is equivalent to 0.2 g.
Multiply the number of grams by 5 to convert to carats. For example, if a diamond weighs 3 g, multiply it by 5. This means that the diamond weighs 15 carats.
Multiply the number by 0.2 grams to check your calculation. For example, multiply 15 carats by 0.2 and the answer is 3 g.
