How do I Make Copper Sulphane Crystals?

Copper sulphate crystals can be grown in the home or classroom. It's fairly easy to do. The crystals form over several days or weeks. They form in a hexagonal shape with smooth sides. They rarely form secondary crystals on the sides as some crystals are prone to do. Copper sulphate is a salt and somewhat toxic if ingested. However, it has a strongly metallic taste and causes vomiting, so accidental ingestion is unlikely. The salt is also mildly caustic, so be careful and prevent contact with eyes and skin. If contact occurs, rinse with water immediately.
