Things You'll Need
Instructions
Remove and recycle all plastic, nonelectronic components. Keep anything that looks like a gold finger, a connector and a circuit board.
Call or email a precious scrap metals refinery, such as Metallix Refining (see the Resources section), to find out what percentage they will pay you of the daily price of gold. This is also called the "spot" price.
Search online for the current price of gold to determine if the refinery's offer is acceptable.
Carefully package your electronic components in bubble wrap and send them to the address provided by the scrap metal refinery in a USPS Flat Rate Priority box or via other method. Depending on how much gold you estimate is in the package, you may wish to insure it.
