How to Make a Salt Seed Crystal

Crystals have captivated the interests and imagination of humans for thousands of years. Considered to appear somewhat mystical in structure, crystals have long been used in ceremonial practices of the occult . Crystalline structures and their properties are still being studied by scientists today, due to the possibility of using them for information storage and frequency or energy amplification. In fact, the use of quartz crystals in today's cell phone and micro circuit technology is still in its infancy, although useful for information storage. Making a basic seed crystal is a simple process and with a few instructions anybody can learn to seed their own crystals.

Instructions

    • 1

Center a poker chip or bouncing putty (Silly Putty) in the bottom of a glass mixing bowl. This will allow you to transport your seed crystal without damaging its delicate structure later.

    • 2

Mix 1/2 cup of salt with 1/2 cup of hot water in a small glass mixing bowl. Do not use boiling water as this will cause too rapid a growth rate for the crystal. Instead, use hot tap water. Stir the solution vigorously for one minute

    • 3

Put the bowl with water and salt solution in the refrigerator immediately. Allow the solution to cool for three hours. You should have a growth of crystals throughout the bowl.

    • 4

Grow a larger crystalline structure by transporting your seed (crystals on the poker chip) to another bowl and adding more salt and water solution. Repeat the above process until you are satisfied with the growth of the crystal.
