How to Bind Hot Gas Lines & Liquid Lines

Pipeline construction and maintenance in crucial to energy production. Maintenance can reduce pressure and corrosion. In fact, the annual cost of pipeline corrosion is between $5 and $8 billion annually. One strategy to maintain pipelines is to co-build the pipelines in the same location. For this reason, it is important to bind hot gas lines and liquid lines together.

Instructions

    • 1

Find the petcock on the fuel pump of the gas line or liquid line. Place a coupling on the end of the fuel nozzle of the pipe lines. Carefully twist the nozzle onto the fuel lines.

    • 2

Twist the gas and liquid lines together with the crescent wrench. Tighten them with steel wire, wrapping around the cylinders.

    • 3

Snap the end of the liquid and gas line with clippers to eliminate slack in the lines. Place another coupling onto the lines and screw them shut.

    • 4

Complete tightening the coupling for binding.
