Make sure you understand diodes before you connect anything. A diode allows current to flow in one direction but not in the other. A diode can be installed backwards so it is crucial that the anode or positive sides of the diodes are connected to the stator wires.
Find the three stator connections on the alternator. Solder one diode to each of the stator wires. Be sure to connect the anode or positive sides of the diodes to the stator wires.
Twist together the other end of the diodes ̵1; the cathode or negative side. A wire runs from the triple wire to the regulator. The three diodes that are used to rectify the AC coming out of the stator are referred to as the diode trio.
