Things You'll Need
Instructions
Locate an open area near the natural gas pipeline. Physically place the spectroscopic hygrometer as close to the pipeline as possible. Make sure to secure the machine against the wall with 4 bolts inserted into the 4 rear mounting tabs using the regular wrench.
Locate the probe housing accessory, resembling a threaded cylinder. Coat the threads below the attached locking mechanism with thread sealant using a small paintbrush. This housing protects the probe that senses moisture within the gas line.
Place the housing into the gas pipeline's threaded opening, then tighten with a wrench.
Tighten the Allen head screws supplied within the mechanism to attach the locking mechanism to the pipeline's threaded opening. Make sure the screws are snugly tightened, but do not strip them from overtightening.
Place the probe into the installed housing, then tighten the nut with your hand, not a wrench.
Test the spectroscopic hygrometer's functions. Verify that the machine is producing numerical values across its display as the gas passes through the pipeline. A properly placed probe will allow immediate functionality and data acquisition.
