Things You'll Need
Instructions
Remove the label from the soda bottle. Rinse the bottle with water to remove any drops or residue of soda.
Measure approximately 6 inches from the bottom of the bottle when the bottle is standing upright. Draw a line around the bottle at this point. Poke a hole in the bottle with the corner of a scissors blade. Cut along the line to remove the bottom part of the bottle.
Place the stones or pebbles inside the bottom of the bottle. These pebbles will allow excess water to drain to the bottom, preventing the soil from over-saturating. Spread the pebbles around so they are evenly distributed.
Pour potting soil onto the pebbles, evenly spreading the soil around. Pour enough soil to fill the bottle bottom to about 1 inch from the top.
Plant five to 10 seeds in the soil. Place the seeds on the top of the soil and sprinkle a small handful of soil on top of the seeds. Water the seeds by pouring 1/4 cup of water over the soil.
Place the top part of the bottle back on top of the bottom. Use duct tape to seal these two pieces together. Tighten the cap of the bottle to make sure the construction is air-tight. Place the bottle in sunlight, such as on a window sill. To water, unscrew the cap and pour water in through the top, then tilt the bottle around several times so the water spreads.
