How to Install an NCR P86

In the past, banking patrons entered a bank facility and performed financial transactions with employees. However, current technology allows a patron to step up to an ATM (Automated Teller Machine) and perform the same transactions. ATMs, such as the model NCR P86, are typically installed into holes along a bank's exterior wall. An installer must make sure the ATM is secure in its position, along with verifying that all wiring connections are correct for a properly functioning machine.

Measuring Tape
Assorted Hand Tools
Lifting Trolley
Weather Seal

Instructions

  Verify that the wall hole is large enough for the new NCR P86. Measure the wall hole and compare the value to the ATM's size.

  Hoist the ATM up with the lifting trolley. Lift the ATM until it is directly in front of the wall hole.

  Carefully slide the NCR P86 into the wall hole. Make sure the ATM's mounting holes align with the wall's mounting holes. Bolt the ATM to the wall through the mounting holes. Remove the lifting trolley from the ATM.

  Install the surrounding collar around the ATM with bolts. This collar hides the gap between the ATM and the wall.

  Attach four strips of weather seal between the collar and the wall, forming a tight enclosure. Secure the bottom of the ATM to the wall hole's base with bolts.

  Access the NCR P86 rear area by entering the bank facility. Attach all wiring from the ATM to the bank's electronic system. Confirm that the machine is attached to electrical power.

  Test the ATM with multiple transactions. Verify that the machine allows withdrawals and deposits. Confirm that any accessories, such as overhead lights, operate correctly.

  Affix any decals to the outside of the NCR P86, such as the bank's logo.
